O calor\u00edmetro mede a altera\u00e7\u00e3o de calor associada \u00e0 desnatura\u00e7\u00e3o, tamb\u00e9m por calor, da mol\u00e9cula quando aquecida a uma taxa constante. Uma biomol\u00e9cula em solu\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 em equil\u00edbrio entre suas formas nativas e desnaturadas. Quanto maior a temperatura de melting (Tm), maior \u00e9 a estabilidade da mol\u00e9cula. O calor\u00edmetro mede a entalpia de desenovelamento que resulta da desnatura\u00e7\u00e3o induzida por calor. O equipamento tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 usado para determinar a altera\u00e7\u00e3o na capacidade de calor da desnatura\u00e7\u00e3o. Al\u00e9m disso, permite elucidar os fatores que contribuem para o dobramento e a estabilidade de biomol\u00e9culas
