Associada do Departamento de Fisiologia e Biof\u00edsica da UFMG, possui forma\u00e7\u00e3o em Ci\u00eancias Biol\u00f3gicas, mestrado em Bioqu\u00edmica e Imunologia, doutorado em Ci\u00eancias e diversos p\u00f3s-doutorados internacionais. Coordena o Laborat\u00f3rio de Angiog\u00eanese e C\u00e9lulas-tronco (LAnCet) e a a\u00e7\u00e3o de extens\u00e3o Dermanalysis, sendo pesquisadora no CT-Terapias (UFMG) e APICRIM (UFOP). Integra o corpo editorial de v\u00e1rias revistas cient\u00edficas e \u00e9 senior editor do British Journal of Pharmacology. Foi presidente das sociedades brasileiras de Farmacologia e Inflama\u00e7\u00e3o e atualmente \u00e9 vice-presidente da Sociedade Internacional de Inflama\u00e7\u00e3o. Coordena o INCT em dengue e o CT Terapias-UFMG, al\u00e9m de ser membro da CATEME da Anvisa. Atuou como Visiting Professor na Harvard Medical School e integra o Editorial Board do AJP-Cell Physiology. Sua pesquisa foca nos mecanismos moleculares da disfun\u00e7\u00e3o card\u00edaca, explorando a din\u00e2mica do c\u00e1lcio e a fun\u00e7\u00e3o contr\u00e1til de cardiomi\u00f3citos com modelos avan\u00e7ados. Coordena um grupo refer\u00eancia em arbov\u00edrus no Brasil, focado na patog\u00eanese viral e no desenvolvimento de terapias que modulam ou resolvem inflama\u00e7\u00f5es associadas a infec\u00e7\u00f5es como dengue, chikungunya, Zika e coronav\u00edrus. Integra o INCT-Dengue, o ZikaAlliance e a Alian\u00e7a DNDi-Dengue, al\u00e9m do Centro de Terapias Avan\u00e7adas da UFMG. \u00c9 membro da Academia Brasileira de Ci\u00eancias (2021-2025), bolsista do CNPq e vencedora do pr\u00eamio Para Mulheres na Ci\u00eancia (2020).
