Entretanto, \u00e9 fundamental reconhecer que o c\u00e9rebro humano apresenta uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o muito maior do que o que pode ser reproduzido em uma placa de Petri. Por exemplo, o c\u00f3rtex cerebral possui uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o em camadas extremamente complexas, algo que \u00e9 imposs\u00edvel de replicar em um ambiente de laborat\u00f3rio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Devido \u00e0 dificuldade de estudar o c\u00e9rebro humano vivo, cientistas vision\u00e1rios, como Yoshiki Sasai, Jurgen Knoblich, Guo-li Ming e Madeline Lancaster, conseguiram desenvolver uma t\u00e9cnica que permitiu \u00e0s c\u00e9lulas-tronco pluripotentes humanas se auto-organizarem em estruturas tridimensionais que lembram, em diversos aspectos, o c\u00e9rebro humano. O processo envolve inicialmente o cultivo das c\u00e9lulas-tronco pluripotentes em uma placa de Petri e, em seguida, a sua transfer\u00eancia para uma superf\u00edcie repelente, que impede a ades\u00e3o ao material. Essas c\u00e9lulas come\u00e7am a se agrupar, formando uma estrutura denominada esferoides. Posteriormente, esses esferoides s\u00e3o colocados em um biorreator contendo um meio de cultura quimicamente ajustado para promover o desenvolvimento dessas estruturas, tornando-as mais semelhantes ao c\u00e9rebro humano. Essas estruturas s\u00e3o conhecidas como organoides cerebrais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inicialmente apelidados pela m\u00eddia de &#8220;mini-c\u00e9rebros&#8221;, os organoides representam modelos altamente sofisticados criados em laborat\u00f3rio com o prop\u00f3sito de estudar o funcionamento do c\u00e9rebro humano, tanto em estados saud\u00e1veis quanto em condi\u00e7\u00f5es de doen\u00e7a, como o autismo, a esquizofrenia e o transtorno bipolar, que s\u00e3o complexos e dif\u00edceis de estudar em modelos animais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9 importante ressaltar, no entanto, que os organoides n\u00e3o conseguem reproduzir integralmente o funcionamento do c\u00e9rebro humano. Por exemplo, nem todas as c\u00e9lulas encontradas no c\u00e9rebro est\u00e3o presentes nos organoides, como pericitos e micr\u00f3glia. Al\u00e9m disso, a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das c\u00e9lulas nos organoides \u00e9 menos desenvolvida e limitada em compara\u00e7\u00e3o a um c\u00e9rebro real. Assim, \u00e9 importante reconhecer a import\u00e2ncia dos organoides cerebrais que fazemos no laborat\u00f3rio para compreender melhor um \u00f3rg\u00e3o que n\u00e3o podemos estudar em uma pessoa viva.
