Infrastructure

The research activities of the GPPB are mainly based in seven Laboratories of the Department of Botany: 1) Plant Anatomy, 2) Plant Biosystematics and Molecular Biology, 3) Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 4) Physiology, 5) Interaction Plant-microorganism. 6) Plant Secretion and Reproduction Lab (PlantSeR) and 7) Plant Systematics. In addition to the infrastructure of these laboratories, the GPPB benefits from several other spaces at UFMG, such as the BHCB Herbarium, Genetics and Microbiology Laboratories (at the Institute of Biological Sciences), Chemistry (Institute of Exact Sciences), Processing Center and Image Acquisition (PCIA-ICB) and the Electron Microscopy Center at UFMG, which has fluorescence, confocal, scanning, and transmission electronics microscopes. All laboratories used by the Program are duly equipped to meet our various lines of research and are maintained by fundraising carried out by professors from different lines of research, which have ensured their expansion and modernization.
