Dr. Fabíola Ribero has a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy (Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto, 2000), a MSc and a PhD degrees in Biochemistry and Immunology (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, 2001 and 2005, respectively). In the same year, following her PhD studies completion, she started a post-doctorate studies at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, where she stayed until 2010. Afterwards, she returned to Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) to become a faculty member as Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology. Dr. Fabíola Ribeiro’s research focuses mainly on investigating cellular and molecular neurobiochemical mechanisms inherent to Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Recently, she opened new research lines encompassing the neuroimmunomodulatory aspects of Schizophrenia, Multiple Sclerosis and Zika virus infection effects into brain tissue.
