Dr. Emanuele holds a Bachelor degree in Biomedicine by FUMEC and a Master’s and PhD degree in Biochemistry and Immunology by UFMG. She has wide experience in Molecular Biology techniques, specially in investigating the antiviral responses in Drosophila melanogaster flies and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Emanuele is currently carrying out her Post-Doc in our laboratory, analyzing neuronal plasticity mechanisms encompassing Huntington’s disease.

Dr. Júlia has a Bacherlor’s degree in Biological Sciences by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Immunology also by UFMG and a PhD in Clinical Medicine by the Trinity College Dublin – Ireland. She worked on several research projects related to Schistosomiasis immunobiology and innate immunity against intracellular bacteria. Nowadays, Júlia investigates neurological and immunological alterations triggered by Zika virus maternal infection.
