Dr. Juliana Alves-Silva Lattes

Dr. Juliana Alves-Silva has a Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences, a MSc and a PhD in Biochemistry, all from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerails. She has experience in neurobiology, molecular biology and cell biology, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher for 6 years at The University of Manchester, UK, where she investigated how the cross-talk between  actin the  microtubules regulates different cellular processes such as neuronal growth and wound healing. Dr. Juliana is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Morphology in UFMG and uses Drosophila melanogaster to understand how microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) work together to promote developmental processes, such as skin formation, neuronal growth and synapse maintenance.
